Poetry Out Loud—FREE
6 p.m.

Admission to the Museum is free every Thursday evening from 4 till 8 p.m., with Museum docents leading a free tour of special exhibitions or the permanent collection at 6 p.m. and free programing on select evenings.

Tonight, watch area high school students put their passion and public speaking skills to the test in the regional finals of Poetry Out Loud, a national arts education program that encourages the study of great poetry by offering educational materials and a dynamic recitation competition to high schools across the country. Winners of the regional contest hosted at the Museum advance to the state contest, to be held in Harrisburg on March 7, 2016.

Poetry Out Loud is presented by the National Endowment for the Arts and the Poetry Foundation in partnership with the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts and the Allentown Art Museum.
