Every Third Thursday the Museum partners with other downtown arts organizations, restaurants, and retailers to fill your evening with fun things to do and see, from after-work drink specials to gallery tours, artist receptions, live music, and more. 5:30 p.m.
Third Thursday film series: Call Her Applebroog (2016)
This deeply personal portrait (70 minutes) of acclaimed New York–based artist Ida Applebroog was shot with mischievous reverence by her filmmaker daughter, Beth B (Exposed). Born in the Bronx to Orthodox Jewish émigrés from Poland, Applebroog, now in her eighties, looks back at how she expressed herself through decades of drawings and paintings as well as her private journals.

6:30–9 p.m.
Theatre Café with Allentown Public Theatre

Enjoy a dramatic reading in the Museum Café, in partnership with Allentown Public Theatre. Tonight's Theatre Café showcases Gender Bending Shakespeare. Scenes and monologues from Shakespeare’s best cross-dressing moments will be read and performed.


6:30–7:30 p.m.
A performance by El Sistema

Come experience a “Fellowship of the Strings” with a repertoire of classical-music pieces and pop tunes performed by El Sistema Lehigh Valley, a program of the Allentown Symphony Association that gives underserved and special-needs youth an opportunity to develop life skills learned by participating in high quality daily music instruction, large ensembles, and academic tutoring within a safe and nurturing environment. These youngsters will develop discipline, the ability to set and achieve long-term goals, and a sense of social responsibility.
