Tonight’s film is Herb and Dorothy (2008), a documentary about an art-collector couple who built a huge collection of works by well-known artists despite their low-income jobs. The film takes a close look at Herbert and Dorothy Vogel and their collecting’s impact on art communities around America. More than two thousand works were packed into their small New York City apartment, but they never sold a piece for profit.
