Cocktails & Collecting

Cocktails & Collecting
November 7 (Saturday)
6-9 p.m.

This year marks the tenth anniversary of the Museum's fall fundraising event, Cocktails & Collecting, which aims to offer the perfect mix of art, hors d’oeuvres, collecting, and socializing. Artists from throughout the Lehigh Valley and beyond (SEE COMPLETE LIST BELOW, with a link to their works) have been invited to showcase, talk about, and sell their works, some even creating their artworks live. This year’s event celebrates the renewed vibrancy in downtown Allentown, specifically in and around the Arts District, of which the Museum is an anchor. Part of the monies raised through art sales and ticket sales at Cocktails & Collecting helps support the Museum and its mission to serve as a resource for artists, members, and the community.

The evening will feature an open bar and food on two floors, courtesy of Catering by Karen Hunter (for menu click here). County Seat Spirits will be pouring specialty gin and tonics and a Bees Knees Cocktail with its Lock Keeper Gin, and providing samples of their other spirits produced right here in Allentown, including their Class 8 Vodka and Sand Island Rum. The Hamilton Kitchen and Bar also will be here, offering a signature specialty cocktail.

For the first time the Museum will be offering complimentary valet parking and valet art services. Valet art services allow you to purchase all of the art you wish from our Cocktails & Collecting artists. You can continue to enjoy your evening of conversation, art critiquing, food, cocktails, and fun without the concern of returning to each artist you purchased from to pick up your art. Volunteer art handlers will safely pick-up and store your art for you on the first floor until you are ready to claim your purchases. Valet art service is optional.

Contact the Museum at 610-432-4333 ext 110 to purchase tickets to Cocktails & Collecting: $100 for Museum members, $125 for nonmembers purchased before the event, $125 for members/$150 for nonmembers at the door. Tickets are also available online (with processing fee) by clicking here.

Just for attending Cocktails & Collecting, each guest will leave with a swag bag! The swag bags will have our Museum Fall 2015 guide and other wonderful perks from our event sponsors! In select swag bags that you will receive on your way out, winners will have a voucher indicating you won a prize! Prizes include: a necklace from Susan Bella Jewelry valued at $103, a family membership to the Allentown Art Museum, a personal tour of the upcoming exhibit This Light of Ours led by an educator or docent for you and six (6) friends, admission for you and a friend to upcoming events such as The Mountaintop and Down to the Crossroads: Civil Rights, Black Power, and the Meredith March Against Fear Author Lecture, catalogues from previous museum exhibits as well as the Kress Collection, and free dessert from the Museum Cafe operated by Karen Hunter.
