Allentown Portraits: A Conversation with Larry Fink and Ed Eckstein Auxliary Auditorium
A conversation between the photographers, moderated by guest curator of Allentown X 7, Luke Wynne. Listen as they discuss their work and their perspectives on Allentown.

Larry Fink, one of the most renowned photographers in America, has had oneman shows at the Museum of Modern Art, the Whitney Museum of Art, and the San Francisco Museum of Art. For the last sixteen years he has been a professor of photography at Bard College.

Ed Eckstein started his career in the 1960s, documenting the social upheavals of the era. He calls his brand of imagery nonfiction photography—images unmanipulated and distilled from visual encounters with humanity and place.

From Mennonite Fields: The Creative Work of Jane and Warren Rohrer Rodale Gallery
A tribute to and an exploration of the artworks of Warren Rohrer and the poetry of his wife, Jane Rohrer, by Julia Spicher Kasdorf, poet and professor of English and women’s studies, Penn State–University Park.

Community Discussion: The Building Bridges Project • Community Gallery

YOU are invited to participate in a facilitated discussion regarding the personal and organizational visions of what Allentown is and can be. This discussion will use the community-submitted photographs from the Building Bridges exhibition as a catalyst, with the objective of helping create awareness of the wide variety of perspectives on Allentown’s strengths, challenges, and aspirations.

ArtVentures in Art Ways Interactive Family Gallery

Kids and families can create original works of art together under the direction of a Museum educator in our Crayola Classroom in Art Ways, free. This month, as we get ready to welcome a new President, we look back in time at artworks that have inspired change through the theme “Vote.”

Autumn ArtSquawk--Open Artist Studios
