Drumming taps into something within us. In many cases that something has been lost in today’s hectic and chaotic society. Drumming channels and focuses a release of energy that has become blocked. To me, all the arts are connected and can be used as effective channels for preserving our childhood creative purity. Art is everyday life, as initially experienced in my village in Ghana. My goal is to use my art as a vehicle for change in breaking down the economic, social, and religious barriers amongst the youth and society at large, regardless; promoting self-esteem, teamwork, appreciation/respect for cultural diversity, positively. My programs mostly start with an assembly highlighting the sights and sounds of Africa, with drumming, creating a unique village experience, with audience participation.
