Are you a talented visual, performing, or literary artist living in Carbon, Lehigh, Monroe, Northampton, or Southern Pike counties? Do you enjoy teaching and sharing your
art with others? Can you communicate effectively with a non-arts audience? Would a panel of your peers agree that you produce quality work? If you can answer yes to
the above questions, consider applying to the Allentown Art Museum to acquire Pennsylvania Council on the Arts (PCA) status as a rostered artist.
Please contact the AIE Manager at 610-432-4333, ext. 53 or

What is a PCA rostered artist?
A PCA rostered artist is a practicing professional artist who has successfully passed the artist application process and has been approved by the PCA Board of Directors.
Achieving rostered status qualifies an artist to participate in artist residency programs with schools and community organizations, and inclusion in the Directory of
Pennsylvania Artists in Education published by the PCA.
What is an artist residency?
Artist residencies place practicing professional artists into schools and community organizations, for a minimum of ten days, to engage students, teachers and community
members in the creative process of one or more art forms. While students exercise creative control over their work, the artist's role is that of mentor, facilitator,
and technical advisor. Individual artists are paid a minimum of $185 a day for PCA-supported residencies and projects.
What is the Directory of Pennsylvania Artists in Education?
The Directory is a list of all rostered artists, categorized by discipline. It includes an artist's education, references, contact information, and personal statement. This
annual publication is distributed locally and across the state to teachers and community group directors for use in selecting artists to facilitate residencies in their
schools or organizations. An artist's status as rostered lasts for three years, after which they must reapply to continue their eligibility for PCA-funded residencies
and listing in the Directory.
