ALLENTOWN BUSINESSES SUPPORT ART MUSEUM WITH GRANTS

Air Products, National Penn Bank, PPL help fund Educational programs

Allentown, PA—The Allentown Art Museum of the Lehigh Valley is pleased to announce the receipt of grants from several business partners in support of the Museum’s 2014 Education budget. Representatives from Air Products, National Penn Bank, and PPL Electric Utilities presented checks recently during visits to the Museum.

The monies will be used to fund Discover Artand other educational programs approved by the guidelines set forth in Pennsylvania’s Education Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program. Discover Art brings fourth graders from all fourteen elementary schools in the Allentown School District to the Museum twice a year for gallery explorations combined with hands-on activities developed by Museum staff.

“The Commonwealth’s EITC program allows us to continue to provide quality arts education for the students in our community,” says Rhonda Mauk Hudak, Manager of Government and Foundation Relations at the Museum. “Through the generosity of partners like Air Products, National Penn Bank, PPL, and other local businesses, we are able to fulfill our educational mission of promoting creative and critical-thinking skills, encouraging active engagement in the arts, and creating life-long learning opportunities. Much of what we do here at the Museum would not be possible without their support.”

Air Products also provided support for the Museum’s 2014 Gala Dinner and Auction, an annual fundraising event held in the spring.

Businesses interested in supporting Educational programs through the EITC program or other vital Museum needs may contact Rhonda Mauk Hudak at 610-432-4333, ext. 152.
