Allentown—This unique self-paced tour begins at Somerset Nursery on Route 100 in Zionsville, where guests will receive a map to six select properties within a roughly 5-mile radius. At each property you will be greeted by the designers, who can answer your questions about plantings and planning your own outdoor retreats. Many of the gracious homeowners will be available as well, to share their outdoor-living stories and tips. Following the tour, at 4:30 p.m., you are welcome to continue your conversation with the designers during a cocktails-and-hors d’oeuvres reception at Bear Creek Mountain Resort.

Scott Rothenberger, of PLACE says, “What sets this tour apart from other garden tours in our area is that it focuses on the true concept of outdoor living, showcasing spaces with fabulous see-through outdoor fireplaces, fire pits, swimming pools, waterfalls, outdoor kitchens, pergolas, and more!”

This is the third year for the Outdoor Living Showcase, which each year highlights different geographic regions of the Lehigh Valley. Macungie, Emmaus, and Zionsville are in the spotlight for 2012. The designers featured include Scott Rothenberger of PLACE, Michael Wachter of Greenstone Landscapes, Russ Schulley of Millcreek Landscape Design, and Tony Caciolo of Monogram Custom Pools. Sponsors include Scott Rothenberger's PLACE, Greenstone Landscapes, Millcreek Landscape Design, Monogram Custom Pools, Somerset Nursery, Lehigh Valley Style Magazine, and Bear Creek Mountain Resort.

Proceeds benefit The Allentown Art Museum of the Lehigh Valley.
