Jill and Al Douglass are named 2017 Gala honorees

                             2017 ART MUSEUM GALA TO HONOR JILL AND AL DOUGLASS
                                            Longtime members founded SOTA, Kress Society
 

Allentown, PA—The Board of Trustees and staff of the Allentown Art Museum of the Lehigh Valley are pleased to announce that the honorees for its annual Gala Dinner Dance and Auction are Jill and Al Douglass. As longtime patrons, Jill and Al have been instrumental in helping the Museum maintain its distinction as a valuable cultural and educational resource to the Lehigh Valley. The 2017 Gala will take place on the evening of Saturday, April 8.
 
Jill Douglass was a founding member of the Society of the Arts (SOTA) in 1964 and has served the organization for more than four decades as member, on the SOTA Board, and as chair of SOTA’s first Show House. Al Douglass served on the Museum’s Board of Directors from 1988 to1997, holding positions on the Executive, Finance, Building, and Development Committees. Al established the Kress Society, a group of individual members dedicated to the continued growth and excellence of the Museum.

The Museum's annual Gala is its principal fundraiser, with all proceeds from the event going to cover general operating expenses as well as to support its educational initiatives and special exhibitions. The Museum provides unique experiences in a wide array of arts and maintains deep programming ties to schools throughout the region. More than 260 community organizations have partnered with the Museum in offering exceptional encounters with the arts to more than one hundred thousand people annually.
