A HALF-DAY SUMMER CAMP FOR CHILDREN AGES 6-7

It’s a zoo in here! Animals big and small are lurking in the Museum. Enjoy a week of zany fun with our many furry and feathery friends! Photography, painting, sculpture, stories and tons of fun are planned just for six- and seven-year-old budding artists. Kids will make their own masterpieces and sneak a peak behind gallery walls to see what goes on in the day-to-day operation of a museum. This is a great way to introduce your child to art making, the world of art and summer fun at the Museum.
This camp session runs Monday to Friday, 9 AM–12 PM and is
limited to 20 participants. Advanced registration is required. Fee
(members $65, non-members $95) includes all materials and a

FULL-DAY SUMMER CAMPS
JULY 28-AUGUST 1 AGES 8-10
AUGUST 4-8 AGES 11-13
They’re playful, curious and impressive. They’re perching on pedestals, lingering in quiet spaces and just hanging around waiting for you to start some wild summer fun. Extraordinary animals are here, there and everywhere in the Museum, captured in photographs, paintings, sculptures and decorative objects. Your young artists will make their own artworks, explore the galleries through lively activities and go behind the scenes to understand the daily workings of the Museum. This unique combination of art appreciation, art discovery, art making and storytelling could only be offered in a museum setting.
Camp sessions run Monday to Friday, 9 AM–4 PM and are limited to 20 participants each. Advanced registration is required. Fee (members $165, non-members $195) includes all materials. Each day, campers should bring a nut-free lunch and two snacks. Pre-care (8–9 AM) and post-care (4–5 PM) are available for an additional $20 fee for both. Allentown Cultural Summer Camp
JUNE 23–27 8–12 YEAR OLDS
Do your children have a love of the arts? Boundless enthusiasm? A sense of creative adventure? Give them a magical summer experience interacting with the visual and performing arts professionals from the Allentown Art Museum, Allentown Symphony, The Baum School of Art, Civic Theatre of Allentown, Community Music School and Repertory Dance Theatre.

Birthday Workshops at the Allentown Art Museum
Have an arty-party at the Museum! Looking for a unique way to
celebrate a child's birthday? Look no further! Simply select one of
the fun-filled themes below, then call 610-432-4333, ext. 32 or
to
reserve your birthday workshop. It's that easy!
What you need to know:
Each workshop is 2 hours in leng th, is designed for children 6 years and
older, and combines kid-friendly gallery activities, an art project, and a birthday
celebration.
We lead the workshop and supply the art materials, tablecloths, napkins, plates,
utensils, juice, and a photo-card memento for the birthday child. You select
one of the party themes and supply the
children and the cake.
Birthday workshops cost $145 for Museum members and $185 for Non-members and
must be reserved at least 4 weeks in advance. The minimum group size is 10, maximum
15.
Larger groups are possible-fees will be adjusted.

Art on Safari 6-8 year olds
Young artists will travel around the world “hunting” for animals in the galleries and then create wild animal masks.
Art Quest 8-12 year olds
Savvy young art detectives gather clues from Museum artworks to solve “the case” before creating their own masterpieces in the studio.
Visual Voyage 8-12 year olds
The wonderful world of sculpture is revealed during this 3-D exploration, taking participants on an art-making journey through the galleries and culminating in the creation of magnificent mini-museums.
HEY ADULTS!
Birthday workshop themes can be adapted for adult groups—bridal showers, birthdays, or anniversaries. You choose the reason and we'll adapt the theme to your special occasion.
Brownie, Cub and Scout Workshops at the Museum
Fee is $7.00 per participant for workshops. Minimum 10, maximum 20 participants per group.
Programs are available late afternoon or weekends. Age appropriate, thematic guided

Cub Scout Workshop
Bear Cub Scouts can work toward earning their Arrow Points for art. This two-hour workshop includes in-gallery activities and hands-on art projects that will count towards the Art Elective.
Brownie Workshop
Brownie Girl Scouts can meet some of the requirements for their Colors & Shapes Try It patch during this two-hour workshop. Through discussion, in-gallery activities, and hands-on art projects, Brownies will travel around the Museum while learning about ways that artists use shapes and colors to create art.
Girl Scout Badge Workshops
Junior Girl Scouts can now earn their Visual Arts badges at the Allentown Art Museum. These two-hour workshops include in-gallery activities and hands-on art projects.
