Frank Lloyd Wright preferred to design all aspects of his buildings, including furniture. This chair was made in 1903 for Mr. and Mrs. Francis Little's house, in Peoria,
Illinois. Its undisguised construction shows Wright's affinity with the Arts and Crafts movement, and it exhibits features common to many of his chairs, including flat
surfaces and straight, unadorned rails, legs, and stretchers. In 1914 the Littles commissioned another house from Wright in Wayzata, Minnesota, and they moved some chairs
from the Peoria house there. The library from the Wayzata house is now in the Allentown Art Museum.
