This library is from the last of Frank Lloyd Wright's Prairie houses, constructed for Mr. and Mrs. Francis W. Little in Wayzata, Minnesota in 1914. It contains many typical Prairie-style features: walls of leaded casement windows, straight lines, and unstained woodwork that enhanced the architecture's connection with the natural setting that was so important to Wright.

In 1973 the Allentown Art Museum acquired the library and it was installed in the museum by architect, Edgar Tafel. Most of the architectural features are original except the closet doors to the left of the entrance, which were added by the Littles. Because Wright's furnishings for the room are not known, the museum and Tafel completed the scheme with chairs, tables, Japanese prints, and Chinese porcelains that characterized Wright's taste.
