Though larger in scale, this image resembles a nineteenth century photograph, appearing to be a straightforward representation of its subject, a farmhouse in fall. Christopher Boas photographed this scene four times, coming back each season to the same spot directly in front of the house. His manipulation of the image is subtle, but he reminds us of his presence by leaving evidence of the processing of the photograph around its edges.
