Introduction
Are you a talented visual, performing, or literary artist living in Carbon, Lehigh, Monroe, Northampton, or Southern Pike counties?

Do you enjoy teaching and sharing your art with others? Can you communicate effectively with a non-arts audience?

Would a panel of your peers agree that you produce quality work?

If you can answer yes to the above questions, please consider applying to the Allentown Art Museum to acquire Pennsylvania Council on the Arts (PCA) rostered artist status.

What is a PCA rostered artist?
A PCA rostered artist is a practicing professional artist who has successfully passed through the artist application process and has been approved by the PCA Board of Directors. Becoming rostered qualifies an artist to participate in artist residency programs and to be included in the Directory of Pennsylvania Artists in Education published by the PCA.

What is an artist residency?
Artist residencies place practicing professional artists into schools and community organizations, for a minimum of ten days, to engage students, teachers and community members in the creative process of one or more art forms. While students exercise creative control over their work, the artists' role is that of mentor, facilitator, and technical advisor.

What is the Directory of Pennsylvania Artists in Education?
The Directory is a list of all rostered artists. The artists are categorized by discipline and includes their education, references, contact information and artist's statement. The annual publication is distributed locally and across the state to teachers and community officials for use in selecting artists to facilitate residencies in their schools and organizations. Artists' Directory status is for three years at a time; artists must reapply every third year to continue being listed in the Directory and continue eligibility for PCA-funded residencies.
