Allentown Art Museum is seeking a creative intern for the Multimedia Internship for the Summer of 2021. This individual will focus on creating a bank of high-quality photographs and videos to be used by the Museum. The multimedia intern will also be responsible for creating a shot list with supervisors as well as editing photographs and videos. The multimedia intern will also have the opportunity to pitch multimedia story ideas to supervisors.

The multimedia intern will complete the internship with experience of creating digital assets for an organization. This intern will also have high-quality photographs and videos to add to their portfolio.

Some evening and weekend hours may be required based on Museum events or programs. Cross-departmental collaboration, including working with curatorial to learn more about our collection, will happen throughout the semester.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, please note that this internship is hybrid and therefore will occur both in-person and on a virtual platform. Any physical interactions will strictly adhere to social distancing and hygienic measures as mandated by the Pennsylvania State policy.

Qualifications:

Experience and/or coursework in electronic media, photography, or videography, experience in capturing and editing photographs and videos, an understanding of voice, brand, and storytelling, ability to manage multiple projects and work independently, but also collaborative when need be, and most importantly an interest in art! A candidate with access to some of their own equipment for capturing and editing is a plus.

Compensation:

The Allentown Art Museum is proud to offer stipends to Interns accepted into the Summer 2021 program. Other benefits include a complimentary Student Membership which gives access to discounts at several local shops and eateries, as well as a discount at the Museum Store.

Stipends are provided at the end of the semester and are dependent upon the completion of the program. All travel will also be reimbursed based on the mandated 2021IRS rates.
