Artist Talk

In the summer of 2017, the Museum commissioned a sculpture from internationally renowned artist Yinka Shonibare MBE. Girl Balancing Knowledge III is the latest piece from the artist’s Balancing Knowledge series, which addresses questions of identity in a complex, globalized society. Completed in December, the sculpture will be shipped to the Museum in early 2018 and will be on view for the first time the weekend of March 10–11. Shonibare will talk about his work on Saturday, March 10, at the Museum.
