Traditional woodblock prints, innovative contemporary art, and objects that migrate across cultures—explore the extraordinary number of Japanese art offerings on view in the Lehigh Valley this fall! Claire McRee, Associate Curator, and Miki Sankary, founding member and chair of Lehigh Valley JAJAJA, will discuss the groundbreaking exhibition Washi Transformed: New Expressions in Japanese Paper, as well as the Museum’s rich art holdings on view in Intuition & Reflection: The Ceramics of Toshiko Takaezu and Collecting Across Cultures: Japanese Textiles in the West. Audience participation encouraged!
This program is presented in partnership with Lehigh Valley JAJAJA. Washi Transformed: New Expressions in Japanese Paper was organized by Meher McArthur and is toured by International Arts & Artists, Washington, DC.
