Event Details

The Allentown Art Museum is proud to launch Sensory Saturdays, a program designed to offer accessible art experiences for individuals with unique needs and abilities. On the second Saturday of each month we will open the Museum early, at 10 a.m., and modify our galleries to make exploration easier for visitors who benefit from reduced sensory input. Modifications including dimming lights, muting audio and video displays, and adding access to calm space in the Rodale Classroom.

In addition to dedicated time to explore the galleries, the Museum will also host sensory-friendly artmaking in the Rodale Classroom. From 11 a.m. to noon, visitors can engage with hands-on artmaking projects or open creative play with a variety of materials.

Calendar of Projects:

November–December: Printmaking and Pattern

January–March: Tactile Textures and Texture Weaving

April–June: Sound Sculptures

July–September: Sensory Stones
