Ana Hamilton, The Embrace, 2025, acrylic on canvas

Ana Hamilton was born in Holguin, Cuba. She was educated at the Colegio Lestonnac, Havana University, and graduated from Trenton State College (The College of New Jersey). Her fine arts education and training span from Cuba, Spain, to the USA.
She was exposed to many art forms at an early age by her father, portrait photographer Aurelio V Sueiro, music, dance, theater, museums, and contact with varied artists who visited their home. Ana has drawn and painted as long as she can remember. She participated in numerous solo and group shows in the Lehigh Valley, Miami, New York, Los Angeles, Barcelona, and Cuba.

“I received classical training and education, representing reality as it unfolds in front of your eyes. Currently, I use memories and experiences in my process, not concerned with technical rules, but mostly with how it makes you feel.

‘Art is the unbridled expression of the human soul.’

There is a freedom that I feel when I use any color or lines within the canvas, and it brings the image of sky, water, flowers, or other figures that can seductively represent images of lands or places, even when not intentionally planned.

It is the joy of departing from reality and memories into possibilities, and I hope the viewer can experience and feel this freedom, too.”
