The Allentown Art Museum has named Chris Bernecker as Chair of its Board of Trustees. Bernecker is the Senior Vice President for H. T. Lyons Inc., part of Equans MEP Services (MEP Services), which is headquartered in Allentown. He brings 36 years of design, construction, and preventative-maintenance experience to the Museum. Prior to joining the Board, Bernecker served on the AAM’s Facilities Committee. He is also an active member of the Executive Forum of the Lehigh Valley and sits on several St. Thomas More Parish Councils.

The Museum has also named Stephen Weiss as a new Board member. Weiss is Senior Vice President of R and D and Global Product Development at Crayola. He previous served as Vice President of Engineering at Hindlepower Inc. and founded Coincident LLC. He holds an MFA in Product Design / Electrical Engineering from Stanford University.

Finally, MaryEllen Dickey, CFRE, a seasoned nonprofit executive with more than three decades of experience in nonprofit development, operations, and campaign leadership, has been named as the Museum’s Chief Campaign Officer. Dickey’s appointment provides the regional management to implement and continue the necessary strategic planning of the Allentown Art Museum’s new purpose-built building, to be located on Hamilton Street in downtown Allentown.

Dickey’s expertise spans various sectors, including higher education, healthcare, and science education. Notably, she recently led the successful $75.6 million capital campaign for the Da Vinci Science Center, also in Allentown. Her previous roles include senior leadership positions at Lafayette College, Lehigh University, Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Hospital, and Diakon. Before transitioning to the nonprofit sector, Dickey spent 15 years in finance, providing asset management and charitable planning services to high-net-worth individuals and families at institutions such as Pittsburgh National Bank, Pennsylvania Trust, and Fulton Financial Advisors.

Dickey can be reached at 610-703-7171 or mdickey@allentownartmuseum.org.
