The Allentown Art Museum is pleased to celebrate Tom and Amy Scalici as this year’s esteemed Gala honorees. Ever since graduating from Gettysburg College, where they met, the couple has been united in their desire to make a positive impact by committing their time and energies to advance causes they support.

“We serve because we believe in the transformative power of art, education, and history to shape our community.”

Tom was elected to the Museum’s Board of Trustees in 2018 and has served as Finance Chair, Investment Chair, and Treasurer since June 2022. He cofounded Cornerstone Advisors Asset Management in 1998. Under his leadership as the Chief Executive Officer, the firm has become one of the nation’s largest independent investment advisory firms. In addition, Tom serves as the Chairman of the St. Luke’s University Health Network Allentown Campus and Sacred Heart Campus combined Board of Governors. He is also a founding Board Member, Vice Chairman, and Investment Chairman of the Catholic Foundation of Eastern Pennsylvania.

Amy served for a decade on the board of the Fund to Benefit Children and Youth, held leadership roles in the Junior League of the Lehigh Valley, and is currently volunteering with the Perfect Fit in Allentown.

Tom and Amy have three adult children: Bryan, who resides in New York City, and Mary and Sarah, who both live in Philadelphia.

“I was invited to join the Board for my expertise in finance and investments, not my knowledge of the art world,” says Tom. “I love numbers, identifying patterns, and puzzles, and struggle to draw even a good stick figure. As it turned out, my skillset was needed at the Museum to help rehabilitate the financial model of the organization. With the help of others, we have accomplished that and have run balanced budgets for the last five years.

“As Amy and I have become more involved in the Museum, we are both more appreciative and curious about art. We recognize and admire the commitment of the staff and volunteers who bring the Museum to life. We enjoy the diversity of the Museum’s collection, including the Tiffany windows, the Franz Kline mural of Lehighton depicting the industrial history of the area, and the Yinka Shonibare sculpture Girl Balancing Knowledge, which draws attention to educational equity.

“One of our favorite parts of the Museum is the Frank Lloyd Wright library. We both admire and appreciate historical architecture and design. The simple yet elegant lines and the geometric patterns in the art glass and the barrel chairs create an interior design that resonates with us.” Tom likes the Wright Library so much that he patterned his home office after it.
