The Arts Community of Easton (ACE) opens its exhibition Communities Create Art on Thursday, August 20, 2026, with a reception from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Art Museum’s Community Gallery. All are welcome. During the run of the show, which ends on August 30, ACE will host three free artist-led workshops and an artist panel discussion at the Museum for teens and adults.
Narissa Nieves, ACE’s President, says, “ACE’s mission is to encourage and promote all the arts, foster an appreciation for creation, and enrich the quality of life by offering arts involvement, education, and accessible community programming to the Easton area and beyond. We are honored and so excited to be working with the museum in pursuing our mission and enriching the art scene through our local talents and their connection with the community.”

Friday, August 21, noon-2 p.m.
This workshop led by Patricia Porter introduces participants to the basics of gel-plate printing. Participants will create prints that can be used as greeting cards, collage art, or framed decorations. This workshop is designed for both beginners and experienced artists. Patricia has been a vibrant presence in the Easton art scene for many years. Alongside her late husband, Robin Porter, she cofounded the renowned ConneXions Gallery, a cornerstone of the community’s artistic expression. Known as an art adventurer, Patricia has embraced the freedom that comes from having no formal training, allowing her to explore various processes and mediums purely for the joy of creation.

Claire Marcus will lead a free goldwork demonstration, a style of embroidery using metal threads. Free, but please sign up HERE to reserve your spot, space is limited.
Claire has a special interest in landscapes and cityscapes and their ability to evoke memory and narrative. Her work includes mixed-media pieces, artist’s books, works on paper, and photography. Her textiles employ knitted, felted, hooked, and stitched components made with hand-dyed and hand-spun fibers.

Make a paper community story quilt with Stacy Winterfield Newman. Using paper, Styrofoam, ink, and paint, participants will create an image or design that represents a significant, meaningful, or memorable moment in their life. Stacy has a true love for tangible art and much of her work is printmaking with mixed media. Through a complex process, her work offers physical layers of vibrant colors, shapes, and textures that dance to an upbeat vibe.
