Allentown Art Museum is seeking a dynamic intern for the Digital Marketing Internship for the Spring of 2022.
This individual will focus on:
- Planning, creating, and posting content (example: taking photos and videos) for Instagram Reels and Stories as well as Facebook Stories
- Working with the curatorial department to create social media captions for art-related posts
- Assisting the marketing department in managing social media channels
- Assisting in website content creation and maintenance
This individual will complete the internship with:
- Working knowledge and experience of managing social media channels for an organization
- Experience working on the backend of a website
- Everlasting access to public social media posts and website pages to be linked to from a portfolio
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Posting to Instagram and Facebook Stories 2-3/week
- Posting an Instagram Reel 1- 2/month
- A monthly list of captions for art-related posts suggested by the curatorial department
- Posting website pages 1-2/week
Additional Information:
Some evening and weekend hours may be required based on Museum events or programs. Cross-departmental collaboration including working with curatorial to learn more about our collection will happen throughout the semester.
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, please note that this internship is hybrid and therefore will occur both at the Museum and remotely. Any physical interactions will strictly adhere to social distancing and hygienic measures as mandated by the Pennsylvania State policy.
Note about hybrid model: The digital marketing intern will be required to come in to the Museum in order to gather assets for multimedia content creation. This individual does have the option to be remote when working on website content creation and maintenance as well as scheduling stories and posts. This individual will work with their supervisor to determine what days they are required to be in the Museum and what days they can work remotely.
Qualifications:
- Experience and/or coursework in marketing, communications, or business (specifically social media, web development, photography/videography preferred)
- An understanding of voice, brand, and storytelling
- Strong writing skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects
- Work independently, but also collaborative when need be
- Most importantly, an interest in art
Compensation:
The Allentown Art Museum is proud to offer stipends to interns accepted into the Spring 2022 program. Other benefits include a complimentary Student Membership which gives access to discounts at several local shops and eateries, as well as a discount at the Museum Store.
Stipends are provided at the end of the semester and are dependent upon the completion of the program.
