Celebrate the start of the holiday season at the Allentown Art Museum during the City of Allentown’s annual Tree-Lighting Celebration, taking place across the street in Arts Park. Enjoy our extended evening hours (warm up inside!) and take part in festive, family friendly activities, including free art making, a special holiday-themed tour, and a one-of-a-kind shopping experience in our Museum Store. It’s the perfect way to kick off the holidays with creativity and cheer!

11 a.m.-6 p.m.: Today is opening day of the special exhibition Ellen Berkenblit: The Clouds are Luminous—see it for the first time (second floor)!
3:30-5:30 p.m.: Enjoy hot cider in the Museum Store (first floor) and art making for all ages accompanied by holiday music in our Crayola Classroom (second floor). Make your own custom gift wrapping and a personalized holiday card.
4:00 p.m. Get in the holiday spirit with a winter-themed tour of the American galleries (first floor), including a look at Walter Baum’s snowy scene Winter Afternoon, ca. 1940s.
4:30 p.m.: Caroling by Queer Quoir in the Community Gallery (downstairs).
5 p.m.: The tree is lit in Arts Park.
6 p.m.: Celebration in Arts Park concludes, Museum closes.
