What are tactiles, and how can they be used to create opportunities for learning and engagement? Local educators are invited to join a free hands-on workshop that delves into the role of tactile materials in museum and gallery
settings. “Teaching with the Collection: Creating Tactile Tools for Engaging with Art” will be held on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, from 4 until 6 p.m. at Lehigh University Art Galleries (LUAG). The Art Museum’s manager of accessibility, Margie Makowski, will lead the exploration of tactile materials, offering examples during a guided tour. You’ll then be encouraged to unleash your creativity by designing your own tactiles.
Space is limited, so register HERE if you’d like to attend.
This workshop is part of the Museum’s ongoing partnership with LUAG.
