Loretta Tryon, Cosmo Necklace
Loretta Tryon is a contemporary metalsmith based in the Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania. Known for her elegant use of shell forming and anticlastic raising techniques, she creates sculptural works in sterling silver and bronze that blur the line between wearable art and organic form. Drawing on her background in abstract drawing and painting, Loretta’s work explores fluidity, natural motifs, and the interplay of patinas and surface textures.
Each piece begins as a drawing, is translated into a custom template, and then meticulously shaped by hand—an intensive, meditative process that allows her to peel back the layers of her vision and translate them into dimensional metalwork. Loretta’s work has been exhibited internationally and regionally, including in Milan, Italy, the James A. Michener Art Museum in Doylestown, PA, the Stover Mill Gallery in Erwinna, PA, and the State Museum of Pennsylvania. Her art continues to evolve through an intimate dialogue with form, material, and the natural world.
