Dear friends of the Allentown Art Museum:
The Allentown Art Museum (AAM) was founded in 1934 with a mission to preserve our artistic and cultural heritage and to ensure public access to it. For more than ninety years the Museum has kept that promise, and today we see that mission embodied anew in the magnificent acquisition of our Tiffany windows, which are now on view.
When masterpieces like these, born outside traditional art contexts, find new life in museums, it underscores that art has always been an essential part of the human experience, connecting us to the past, to each other, and to the world around us.
But the power of art goes beyond fostering shared experiences and meaningful connections. Studies show that just one visit to an art museum can reduce stress and anxiety, boost mood, and enhance mental acuity. For children the impact is even greater; art museum visits make them 5X less likely to drop out of school while improving performance in nearly every academic subject. Art changes lives.
At the Allentown Art Museum we ensure that the therapeutic power of art is accessible to everyone, for free, through various programs. Art Can offers accessible art experiences to adults living with dementia and memory loss, Field-Trip Fridays helps home- and cyber-school students combat social isolation, and early childhood learning programs like Arte y Español and Head Start provide the building blocks upon which lifelong connections to the visual arts are built. Programs like these represent the Museum’s legacy of stewardship: a commitment to access, and a collective belief in the enduring power of art to transform lives.
Please help us continue this important work by donating to our spring Annual Fund campaign today.
From now until June 30 you can double the impact of your donation. Thanks to the generosity of an AAM Trustee, every dollar you donate will be matched up to $10,000. You can donate now by clicking on the button below or by calling 610-432-4333 ext. 154 to make your donation with a credit card over the phone.

With gratitude,
