Art, photography and sports! Make your mark, Allentown, by joining us Sunday, June 24, for a fun, family friendly celebration of our current exhibition Who Shot Sports. There will be a ton of free activities for all ages inside the Museum and outside in Arts Park, including art making, music, yoga, gallery tours, a photography workshop with Lehigh Valley Steelhawks player Dante Holmes and more!
Admission to the special exhibition Who Shot Sports is free to everyone today.
INSIDE THE MUSEUM
Noon–4 p.m.
–Free entry to the Museum and all exhibitions, including Who Shot Sports.
–Families can create together team pennants and customize a baseball cap upstairs in the Museum’s Crayola Classroom.
Noon–2 p.m.
In a workshop setting teens can learn the principles of photography and explore their own unique photographic perspectives with photographer Jett Ulaner. On hand to assist with the day’s activities in Rodale Classroom is Lehigh Valley Steelhawks player Dante Holmes.

Free guided tours of Who Shot Sports

This screening of the documentary film Taking Root: The Vision of Wangari Maathai tells the story of Kenya’s grassroots Green Belt Movement that encouraged rural women and families to plant trees. Wangari Maathai, the movement’s founder, was the first environmentalist and the first African woman to win the Nobel Prize.
OUTSIDE THE MUSEUM, ON FIFTH STREET & IN ARTS PARK (or inside the Museum if raining)
Noon–4 p.m.
–Deejay KJ Lehigh will be spinning an upbeat blend of music in front of the Museum.
–Try some stretching and yoga in the Park with an instructor from Easton Yoga.
–Families can make sun prints and golf-ball art—artworks that focus on movement and action in celebration of Who Shot Sports.
–Tootsee the Clown will be creating smiles with balloon art and face painting.
–Community organizations tabling the event: Allentown’s Parks & Recreation Department, Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center, City of Allentown EMS, Community Bike Works, 6X Basketball Organization, Upside Allentown.
–Food trucks from around the Valley will be serving up eats, including Ciaó for Now Café, A Taste of Soul, SmokeHouse, Cool Treats Ice Cream.
Noon
–DWA (Drummers with Attitude) will present a street drumline performance in front of the Museum. Led and created by Kevin Travers, DWA is a diverse group of drummers and dancers that has been performing since 2000 throughout the Philadelphia area for the Philadelphia 76ers, Soul, Flyers and Phantoms, and at community events.
–The Lehigh Valley Phantoms’ mascot, meLVin, will be mingling with his fans as part of the Phantoms’ street team.
1:30-2:30 p.m.
Lehigh Valley IronPigs mascots FeFe and FeRROUS can be found at every IronPigs home game at Coca-Cola Park. Today FeFe will be at the Museum helping us celebrate Who Shot Sports.
