The Allentown Art Museum is celebrating the start of Verano Vibrante–a “Vibrant Summer” of bilingual programming–with an indoor/outdoors Nuyorican Hip-Hop Bash that’s free and open to all ages on Saturday, June 6, from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. The Bash is sponsored by La Mega Radio and includes artists, performers, and vendors from across our community. Rain date is Sunday, June 7.

Inside the Museum, visitors can view three featured artworks by artists of Puerto Rican heritage on loan from El Museo del Barrio along with the new exhibition Revolution Retold, create their own art in Art Ways Interactive Family Gallery, and more.

On Fifth Street, right outside the Museum’s front door, there will be music, dance performances, artmaking inspired by graffiti culture, food trucks by La Frikitona and Tita’s Piraguas, and more. Here’s the complete schedule:

—DJ Lazar and the “Mega Monster” mobile DJ soundstage by La Mega Radio brings the music (outside)
—Artist Rafael Menendez (of Maltas Con Leche) leads graffiti-inspired artmaking (outside)

—all-ages artmaking begins in Crayola Classroom (inside the Museum)
—Learn how to dance in Hip-Hop/Bomba fusion style in the Community Gallery (inside)
