Christ Quilts: A Turning
Saturday, September 6 • 1 p.m.
Discover the art, craftsmanship, and cultural significance of American quilting with a special quilt turning event featuring esteemed collectors Arlan and Pat Christ. A quilt turning is a way to display and discuss quilts, often at quilt shows or guild meetings. It involves layering several quilts on a stand or table and then, one by one, turning them back to reveal the quilt underneath while sharing the quilt’s story. This intimate experience offers a rare opportunity to deeply explore quilts from the Christ collection, including those on display in the exhibition Cutting Edge, showcasing intricate patterns, masterful techniques, and the rich traditions behind these textile treasures. Don’t miss this chance to celebrate excellence in quilting and experience these remarkable works up close! Free, but space is limited, so please reserve your spot HERE.
