Hundreds of members, supporters, partners and community members joined leaders of the Allentown Art Museum on October 19, 2017, for the Big Reveal, an event that marked the Museum’s launch of a bold new plan to engage, teach, inspire and transform its community in extraordinary ways.
Museum president and CEO David Mickenberg took the stage set up in the middle of Fifth Street—with the Allentown skyline as backdrop—to announce visionary plans for a Museum Center for Creativity and Innovation, residences for artists in the emerging downtown, inclusive programs for neighborhood youth and families and other initiatives that will make the Museum an epicenter for much more than the beautiful artwork we already preserve and present.
The legacy of the past and the promise of the future have been entwined in the new Allentown Art Museum logo, which was unveiled at the Big Reveal. The colorful, clean, modern-looking mark is symbolic of the Museum’s progressive approach as we reimagine and strengthen our role in the community.
