Christine is a self taught artist who has been painting scenic views of Bucks County and beyond for the past twenty six years; starting on a rainy day in 1998, after finding a pan of her daughter’s watercolors.

Inspiration has been her companion ever since. Christine has shown regionally as well as Cape Cod for the past 26 years. Having begun in watercolors, she now paints contemporary landscapes and Astroscapes in oil. Her works are included in private and public collections locally, nationally, and around the world.

Her attention to color and bold dramatic skies, coupled with exuberant brushwork, result in scenes that surround the viewer with the feel and light of the chosen subject. Christine is the founder of the “First Sunday Salon” – a group of artists who gathered on her farm to share, critique, and form a community of support for all types of artists. The group met at Big Tree Studios for over fourteen years. The interaction with other artists enriched and inspired Christine’s creative process, having a powerful effect on the growth of her body of work.

“The opportunity to paint whatever moves me on a certain day, allows me to express my many interests, as well as learn to handle new challenges. Therefore, my shows tend to have varied subject matter…I couldn’t imagine being limited to only one subject.”

Having had the opportunity to handle and study the works of the Pennsylvania Impressionists, as well as other famous American painters while manager of the Gratz Gallery, greatly influenced her knowledge of composition, color and atmosphere.

Big Tree Studios was opened in 2010 at the family farm in Upper Bucks County, the culmination of the dream to create a space that supports not only her works, but the works of the region’s many gifted artists and musicians.

Christine is inspired and honored by the opportunity to share in the  support the rich artistic heritage of Bucks County, and is excited to be a part of its movement into the 21st century.
