While attending Moravian College, Deborah Slahta began her lifelong passion for clay upon graduating with a B.S. in Mathematics. Now she explores the vessel as a three-dimensional canvas, producing finely crafted Raku and stoneware Ceramics.

Slahta is a Hellertown, PA native residing in the Lehigh Valley. She maintains a studio at the Banana Factory in Bethlehem, PA, where she has been a juried resident artist since May 2000, teaching ceramic classes for adults, children summer camps, and after school programs for at-risk youth.
