Serving nearly 3,000 students per year, Discover Art brings all of Allentown School District fourth-graders to the Museum twice during the academic year.

The emphasis is on creativity and fundamental art proficiencies and encourages inquiry, experimentation, collaboration, and discussion, integrating the arts with the sciences and humanities.

Each two hour visit includes an in-depth exploration of artworks from the Museum’s permanent collection and temporary exhibitions, and activities that teach 21st century skills.

Discover Art encourages academic excellence but also introduce students to the roles that museums play in expressing and preserving cultural heritage and the importance of visual literacy and visual thinking.
