Reports To: Manager of Marketing and Public Relations
Department: Marketing
Purpose: To provide support to the Marketing department in the form of creative, administrative, and strategic planning and activities impacting the following Museum marketing functions: social media, digital communications including eblasts and website updating, digital and print materials development, brand management, media relations, advertising, special events, community engagement, and metrics reposting/analysis.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Manager of Marketing on all marketing-related activities, including the development and implementation of promotional materials, social media, mailings, e-newsletters, advertising plans and placement, press releases, media lists, photography, and metrics/results reporting
  • Coordinate with staff members to obtain input and determine the appropriate language for content for social media posts, e-blasts, e-newsletters, website, announcements, and various publications regarding exhibitions, programs, community collaborations, and special events for audiences with diverse backgrounds, experiences, and interests
  • Generate, review, and repost content on social media multiple times during the day
  • Creation and delivery of content which meets Museum standards of accuracy and consistency and fits Museum communication directions, positioning, and programmatic and campaign needs
  • Support the Manager of Marketing in maintaining the marketing matrix spreadsheet, containing Museum-wide scheduling for marketing needs
  • Assist with preparation and presentation of marketing information for company-wide marketing meetings and attend meetings as necessary to perform duties and for department and Museum business
  • Research, plan for, and present opportunities for new social marketing platforms and trends, and adapt current practices to fit Museum needs
  • Monitor and prepare reports on earned Museum publicity
  • Oversee production and installation of marketing related posters, banners, and signage
  • Develop and maintain marketing information systems, including files, calendars, mailing lists, and print materials
  • Maintain advertising schedule/budget
  • Process vendor invoices for approval and payment

Requirements/qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or related field
  • Minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience with proven track record of strong working knowledge of social-media platforms and project management, and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player
  • Graphic design skills preferred
  • Working knowledge of all Microsoft office products. Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, WordPress, Constant Contact, and social media tools such as Hootsuite preferred. GoogleAds experience a plus.
  • Knowledge of art and nonprofit organizations a plus
