Opening August 27, 2022
Trexler, Butz, and Goodman Galleries and Trexler Hall
Explore more than 150 works of American art—and their connections to both local and global artistic communities—through our renovated and redesigned American galleries. This reinstallation investigates how trade, colonization, and the migration of people and ideas have shaped our nation’s culture.
The New American Galleries will reimagine much of the Museum’s first floor. Recent acquisitions, including contemporary art and works by African American, Latinx, Latin American, and Indigenous artists, will play a key role in this transformation. This long-term exhibition will also introduce regular rotations of works on paper and textiles, allowing our galleries to change and grow alongside our community.
