Hear the Bertoia Sounding Sculptures in Action

Our Museum Auxiliary visited Bertoia Studio in Bally, PA, on April 7, 2016, and were treated to a tour by Val Bertoia, who keeps the legacy and the sounds of his father Harry’s work alive. Hear and see Val Bertoia explain how different sounds can be coaxed from a Bertoia gong. Also, Val plays two airborne sculptures, and watch a snippet from the concert the group enjoyed of Harry’s works in the Bertoia Barn. The Museum has three Bertoia sounding sculptures on permanent display in Trexler Gallery.
