As part of their annual day of service, fourteen seventh-grade students and two teachers from Roberto Clemente Charter School volunteered for four hours on October 18, 2023. The program encourages students to leave the school and contribute to local organizations such as nonprofits and food banks as a way to give back to the community.
During their time at the Museum the students prepared materials for thirty field trips. These materials will serve more than five hundred local elementary school students participating in our Discover Art program. The students also created fifty texture boards for AAM’s Sensory Kits. These kits allow visitors to engage and explore tactile sensations in a hands-on gallery friendly format.
