The Allentown Art Museum is pleased to announce a Bethlehem Community Day at the Museum on Saturday, October 20, in partnership with the Bethlehem Fine Arts Commission. Bethlehem residents who show an ID with their address at the Museum’s front desk will be admitted into the galleries for free along with their family members. Museum hours on Saturday are from 11am to 4pm, with the following activities planned:
- Access to the fall special exhibitions, including Power & Piety: Spanish Colonial Art and Angel Suarez-Rosado: Talisman
- Tour of the Museum’s permanent collection at 1pm
- Scarf sale in the Museum Store
- Treasure Hunt and Art Ways activities for kids
Visitors may plan their visit by calling 610-432-4333, ext. 110, or they can just show up on Saturday!
“Thanks to a generous grant from the Bethlehem Fine Arts Commission, we are able to reach out to residents of Bethlehem to engage with them and share with them all the Museum has to offer,” says Chris Potash, the Museum’s manager of marketing and public relations. “From family friendly activities and festivals to our varied exhibitions, a visit to the Museum helps build families and community through shared experiences and insights into the diverse cultural heritages of the Lehigh Valley. Through partnerships like this one with the Bethlehem Fine Arts Commission, we continue to build relationships and collaborate with various community-based, arts-related programs.”
The Allentown Art Museum is open Wednesday-Saturday from 11am-4pm, Sundays from 12-4pm and until 8pm on the third Thursday of each month.
